Now, as you can understand - from the customer's point of view this is appalling! But either of this would only happen post Diwali i.e. Today, on 5th Nov I finally receive a call from the service center saying that the product is still not available and they can either offer me a refund or another product of the same value. That kind of timeline in this day and age is preposterous in itself but I still decided to wait patiently. Eventually, they took another 30 minutes to give me a hand-written copy of the service request and told that it would take minimum 10 days for product replacement. Once they finally decided to accept it under warranty, they found that the product SKU was not even listed in the system when making an entry.

The service center was completely disorganized and the staff was casual, dismissive and unaware that a product such as this even exists.
